TravelPicks.in helps Indian travellers buy luggage that survives the trip. We publish spec-based, research-driven comparisons of trolley bags and laptop bags today, with backpacks, duffels and travel accessories opening through the rest of the year — ranked on shell material, wheels, warranty length and how far a brand's service network actually reaches in India. No fluff, no paid rankings.
Who's Behind This
TravelPicks.in is founded and run by Naveen Bhavnani, based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. What started as a personal habit of obsessively researching every purchase turned into this site — a place where that research is done for you, transparently and thoroughly.
The site is operated by Mouthwatering Marvels (OPC) Private Limited, a registered company based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
How We Pick and Score Products
Every product on TravelPicks.in goes through a structured evaluation process:
- Real specs, not marketing claims. We take technical specifications from manufacturer datasheets and cross-check them against the Amazon.in listing, saying so where the two disagree.
- Verified buyer reviews, read in volume. We read through verified buyer reviews on Amazon.in to identify real-world patterns — what breaks, what lasts, what people actually love or hate about a product.
- India-specific considerations. Whether a bag clears the cabin sizers Indian airlines enforce, how a warranty claim actually works, how far a brand's service network reaches beyond the metros, and how a shell holds up to monsoon handling — factors that global review sites ignore but decide the purchase here.
- Weighted scoring. Each product category has its own scoring criteria with weighted dimensions (for luggage: shell material, wheels and handle, zips and locks, warranty and service reach, weight). The weights reflect what actually matters for Indian buyers, not arbitrary benchmarks.
Our scores and rankings are editorial decisions. No brand can pay to influence them.
One thing we are explicit about: we run no durability testing of our own. We research, analyse and compare products from specifications, verified owner reviews and published airline and warranty terms — and we never claim otherwise. Where a brand sends us a sample we inspect it and check its specifications against the item, which is labelled on the product; it never changes a score. Our methodology page sets out exactly what that process does and does not involve.
Our Data Sources
Prices, product images and availability come from the live Amazon.in listing and are refreshed in batches. Star ratings and verified-review counts are read from that listing too. Specifications come from manufacturer datasheets, cross-referenced with the listing. Cabin baggage limits come from the carriers' own published allowances and are re-checked quarterly.
How We Make Money
TravelPicks.in is a participant in the Amazon.in Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.in. When you buy a product through our links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
This does not influence our recommendations. We score and rank products based on research, not commissions.
Brands do not pay us. We sell no sponsored articles and no place in a ranking, and no score has ever been adjusted for money. What a brand can do is send us a product — a new launch, or a sample of something already on sale. A supplied unit is labelled “Gifted” wherever it appears and is judged by exactly the same research-based criteria as every other product; it earns no rank, no score and no badge it has not earned on the evidence.
